We are pleased to invite you to the 16th Annual Meeting of the SHVM, to be held in warm, hospitable, and historical Charleston, South Carolina, USA, from September 30 to October 3, 2018. In keeping with the tradition of each meeting having a thematic focus, this meeting will focus on cutting edge technologies for the discovery of new mechanisms regulating cardiovascular metabolism.
Many scientists are interested in using “big data” approaches including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other “-omics.” However, these strategies present numerous quagmires from experimental design, to sample preparation and analysis, to data interpretation. As these strategies become more pervasive and accessible, it becomes increasingly important to utilize them appropriately and to exploit them to their full potential. This meeting’s invited speakers will present their recent work successfully using these strategies to identify novel mechanisms influencing both cardiac, cardiometabolic, and vascular metabolism. In many cases, this new knowledge would not have emerged if candidate approaches had been used.
We hope that you will join us for this meeting and that numerous new collaborations will be forged.
We look forward to welcoming you to Charleston, SC.
With best wishes,
